Our interior designer Peta Cahill has brought to our attention a couple of great iPhone apps which let you select and identify any colour you may come across when you are out and about. The first, from New Zealand paint manufacturer Resene, is called ColourMatch, and it gives instant access to thousands of Resene spectrum colours enabling matching from any image taken on your iPhone.

NSW Govt Announces a new Funded Housing Supply Strategy with a $20,000 Cap on Section 94 contributions

The NSW Government has today announced a Comprehensive Housing Supply Strategy to accelerate housing supply and place downward pressure on housing prices. The strategy includes a $44 million funding package, including support for local government to accelerate the delivery of local environmental plans, development assessments and contribution plans. The package also includes a new $20,000 per dwelling cap on local council contributions, with the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal to decide on proposed funding above th

A Hike to the Hotel Hospitality & Design Expo in Melbourne

Louise, Peta and Terry from Realize trekked south recently to attended the opening day of the inaugral Hotel Hospitality & Design Expo in Melbourne in search of some of that quintessential cutting edge design flair and product the 'State of design' is reknowned for. We came away somewhat underwhelmed, with the hope that this, the first such narrowly targeted event for hotels and hoteliers, will gain traction and support as the word gets around.

A presentation on how architects see and draw

Realize's principal Terry Savill today gave a keynote presentation at the 'Spacewise: Enhancing Built Environment Education in Technology' workshop  held in Shellharbour in support of  high school educators who are teaching about the built environment and design in the Stage 4 Mandatory Technology Syllabus in NSW schools . Spacewise was established as a means of introducing young people to both architecture and the importance of design as a cultural value.
